Edison was about to launch Risolve, a set of home services sold alongside the energy supply: the things a house needs and nobody plans for. The offer was ready before there was a way to tell it. On the page it read as a price list next to a bill, and it left the customer to work out what a home service had to do with their electricity contract. A customer who has to do that work usually does not do it.
The decision
We agreed to build an ecosystem rather than a catalogue. At the centre, the energy supply the customer already has and recognises. Around it, the services as extensions they add when they need them, the way you add a room to a house you already live in. That one decision ordered everything else, and it is why the work did not start from the interface.
What was done
First we put the existing flows back in order, so they could carry that structure. Only then did we redesign the customer experience, resting it on the design system I reviewed and extended so that site and app stopped speaking two different languages. In the last phase the decisions travelled intact to the people building them: as requirements, and as support to the agency in charge of development.
Risolve was selected for the ADI Design Index 2025, 344 projects out of more than a thousand entries, and the only route to the Compasso d'Oro 2026.
